Israel's Three Must's and Jehovah's Seven I-Will's

This is a small tract written by David L Cooper:

My reason for running in the Biblical Research Monthly the department of "Israel's Place in the Plan of God" is that a clear grasp of this doctrine is essential to the proper understanding of the teaching of the Scriptures in general; for apart from it one cannot comprehend the significance of numerous passages in both the Old Testament and the New. As we see from a casual reading of the original promise (Gen. 12:1-3), which is the basis of all prophecy, and the predictions immediately growing out of it recorded in Genesis, Abraham and his seed were chosen to be the channel of world blessing. Hence to misunderstand the divinely elected position of Israel in the world is to view the Scripture from the wrong perspective. To look upon the Word of God and His providential workings in the world from the incorrect point of view is to see things in a distorted manner; and to receive the wrong impressions concerning His plan of the ages is to be unable to conform one's life and activity to the perfect will of God and to cooperate with Him fully and intelligently. In view of these momentous facts one can see that it is absolutely imperative for one to understand the scriptural teaching concerning Israel's place in the plan of God.

In many places throughout the Scriptures we see statements which give this plan more or less completely. Among them may be mentioned the one which deals with Israel's future return to God found in Deuteronomy 30:1-10. To this passage we shall now address ourselves. I assume here that the reader will turn to this section of the Word and examine it carefully before he studies this article. This block of scripture properly falls into two natural sections: (1) Israel's three must's (vss. 1,2); (2) Jehovah's seven I-will's (vss. 3-10)...keep reading

From CAMERA:

When Zairian President Mobutu Sese Seko spoke to a group of government officials about the problem of corruption in his country in 1976, he didn't come right out and tell them to quit stealing altogether. He just told
them to dial it back. “If you want to steal, steal a little cleverly, in a nice way. If you steal so much as to become rich overnight, you will be caught.”

Somebody is probably offering similar advice to Islamist terrorists in Iraq in light of the murder of more than 50 Christians by Al Qaeda terrorists in Baghdad on Oct. 31. By killing so many Christians at once, they overwhelmed the ability of Western intellectuals and religious leaders to sweep the problem of Islamist violence against Christians under the rug...read more

The Camp David II summit and the "Aqsa intifada" that followed have confirmed what everyone had long known: Jerusalem is the knottiest issue facing Arab and Israeli negotiators.

In part, the problem is practical: the Palestinians insist that the capital of Israel serve as the capital of their future state too, something Israelis are loathe to accept. But mostly, the problem is religious: the ancient city has sacred associations for Jews and Muslims alike (and Christians too, of course; but Christians today no longer make an independent political claim to Jerusalem), and both insist on sovereignty over their overlapping sacred areas...The Muslim Claim to Jerusalem

James Carroll’s Analytical Skills Stop at Christendom’s Edge

This is a thoughtful article from CAMERA that I've been meaning to post for a while:

During the months of July, August and September, author James Carroll authored a six-part series for The Boston Globe about the Arab-Israeli conflict as a precursor to soon-to-be published book Jerusalem, Jerusalem: The Ancient City that Ignited the Modern World.

The series titled, “Turning History into Hope,” was not a “sensation” by any stretch of the word, but it was an “event” worthy of note, largely because of Carroll's status as the author of Constantine's Sword: The Church and the Jews (Houghton Mifflin, 2001), an authoritative text on how Christian scripture, liturgical practices and theology contributed to the demonization of Jews in Europe and laid the groundwork for the Holocaust...keep reading

The book deals with Walker's 2008-09 travels to Africa and "Palestine/Israel" (mainly the Gaza Strip). Celebrated poet and fiction writer Margaret Atwood, the recipient of the Dan David Prize at Tel Aviv University last May, should stick to the world of fiction. In a Sept. 17 piece in Ha'aretz entitled "Suffering of Palestinian children is something both sides can agree on," Atwood cites a 2009 report by Save the Children U.K. called "Life on the Edge," claiming that document finds that "the rate of malnutrition of the children in Area C [of the West Bank, under full Israeli control] is higher than even that in Gaza, and many kids are not only developmentally stunted, but are dying from related illnesses." But the 70-page document says nothing about child malnutrition or mortality, either caused by illnesses related to malnutrition, developmental stunting, or otherwise. Israel's fault - again

You have to admire the ability of this type of media to be able to come up with inventive ways of blaming Israel and one-sided reporting. This sort of irresponsible journalism feeds the problem and muddies the facts.

On Saturday (Aug. 28), a sermon by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the spiritual leader of the Shas party, in which he dubbed Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas "evil" and called on God to strike "these Ishmaelites and Palestinians with a plague, these evil haters of Israel," sparked intensive media coverage. Major media outlets such as the New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters, Agence France-Presse, Boston Globe, Daily Telegraph and Irish Times all covered the incident, some dedicating entire stories to it...The Incitement Double Standard: Ovadia Yosef vs PA Leadership

From FrontPageMag:

It’s been nearly two years since Palestinian representatives and Israelis sat across a table from each other to talk about peace. As the latest round of talks got under way yesterday, it’s hard to imagine that the results this time will be much different than any other time. Has anything changed that might lead to a different outcome? Gaza is still being run by Hamas. The “moderates” sitting across the table from Israel – Fatah, Egypt and Jordan – refuse to do to take any action that would delegitimize the group of terrorists who rule Gaza. The much vaunted “two state solution” can hardly work when half of the proposed Palestinian state refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist, sneers at peace talks involving their enemy and, just to emphasize their contempt, carries out terror attacks two days before those talks commence...The Peace Delusion

As President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Abbas now assemble to try to make peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, the 600 pound gorilla in the room will be Richard Goldstone. Destroying Israel in Stages

The Oslo Accords signed on the White House lawn in September 1993 served Yasser Arafat, chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) well. The Accords were the Trojan Horse that enabled Arafat to return to “Palestine” as a hero. Only a few years earlier, he had supported Saddam Hussein’s brutal occupation of Kuwait. But when the U.S.-led coalition pushed Iraqi forces out of Kuwait, Palestinians living in the region paid the price for Arafat and Saddam’s alliance — half–a-million Palestinians were expelled by the Kuwaitis. Arafat’s fortunes had nose-dived. He was in exile in Tunisia, and the dream of expelling the Jews from “Palestine” seemed remote. Then, lo and behold, he was saved by Israel and the U.S...read more

On Fisk and Israel

The Fulfilled Prophecy website recently posted a link to an article by Robert Fisk. Presumably the intent of the post was to draw attention to deeper connections between Solana, the EU and Israel. I would have liked for FP to have commented on some of Fisk’s bias in the article.

Specifically this:

“All in all, it's good to have such a stout ally as Israel on our side, even if its army is a rabble and some of its men war criminals. Come to that, why don't we ask Hizbollah to join Nato as well – just imagine how its guerrilla tactics would benefit our chaps in Helmand. And since Israel's Apache helicopters often kill Lebanese civilians….”

Israel’s killing of Lebanese citizens was not intentional. Hezbollah made it a practice (as do Hamas) to hide behind citizens while firing rockets upon Israel. Fisk would serve the Lebanese citizens better by pointing that out. Unfortunately, throw away statements like these by biased and irresponsible reporters only foster anti-Israelism.

Regarding the Solana, EU and Israel connection – it should be obvious by now that the popular expectations in some circles that the ENP1 treaty had prophetic significance and relevance to Daniel’s 70th week have failed. Solana has retired but even while he had his finger in a number of pies – and may still have - he was rarely able to exert the extraordinary political influence of Rev 6:2.

If the signing of the ENP treaty back in Jan 07 was the commencement of Daniel’s 70th week and the tribulation, we should have seen progressive confirmation of that in relation to the opening of the seals in Revelation 6. Despite all the justifications regarding the number 666, mid-week has come and gone; there is no Temple in Jerusalem and no Abomination of Desolation has occurred. We are not in Daniel’s 70th week yet.

Back to Fisk:

Just who is Mr Fisk?

Fisk consistently denounces Israel and the United States as oppressive exploiters that provoke the enmity of other nations around the world. While he condemned the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks as a “hideous crime against humanity,” he immediately called for an “honest discussion” about the motives behind those attacks -- a discussion which he said was lacking in the Western press. For his part, Fisk ascribed the attacks chiefly to legitimate Arab anger over U.S. policies in the Middle East, particularly America’s support for Israel...Discover The Networks

An older article from CAMERA:

Usual fare on cable TV's Discovery Channel — documentaries about inventions, nature, and archeology — gave way recently to an unabashedly anti-Israel series entitled "Beirut to Bosnia" and reported by British journalist Robert Fisk. The three films ostensibly examine "why fundamentalist Muslims feel the West has betrayed them." Discovery host John Palmer explains at the outset of the first hour, devoted to Lebanon, that Muslim animosity is a consequence of America having "supported the Balfour Declaration which led to the creation of the state of Israel out of Palestinian land in 1948." The charge of Jewish usurpation of Arab land is Fisk's incessant theme, reiterated by speakers throughout the series and accompanied by vivid images of Arab suffering...The Anti-Israel Rant of Robert Fisk

Dodging the Anti-Semitism Bullet

From American Thinker:

The announcement that Helen Thomas has been sent to journalistic Valhalla is good news on several levels. Not only because it at last removes an erratic, out-of-control figure who has represented a political and social embarrassment for decades, but also because it signals that America has once again dodged the anti-Semitism bullet.

A country that accepts anti-Semitism is a country on its way to destruction. The historical record could not be clearer on this. Late 19th-century Germany was one of the leading states of the Western world, the heir of Beethoven and Goethe, a standard-setter for the sciences, the humanities, and education, a pioneer in social welfare and industrial-labor relations, with a vast influence across Europe and as far as the United States, Argentina, and Japan.

Less than half a century later, Germany was a ruin, a bombed-out wasteland split into several zones occupied by its enemies, its populace scrabbling for a living in the remains of its flattened cities. The obsessive anti-Semitism of its leadership played no small role in this outcome...Read more

Although many won’t admit it, we are in the midst of an ideological war with Islam. And since the advantage goes to the side that fully realizes they are at war, the West is losing. The propaganda war is going in favor of Islam precisely because the West doesn’t realize it is supposed to be fighting one. The ability of Islam to rally much of the world behind its hatred of Israel is a telling indication of who is winning the war of ideas. As for war aims, it’s not clear that there are any. Even those who see the danger clearly rarely talk in terms of victory; they talk mainly in terms of resisting cultural jihad. The Mainstreaming of Anti-Semitism

From American Thinker:

In a recent Shabbat sermon, the senior rabbi at one of Baltimore's largest congregations explained why, whether he liked it or not, he felt compelled to talk about Israel. He suggested that due to the voluminous number of e-mails he received discussing an article written by Ed Koch and a sermon delivered by local rabbi Mark Wohlberg, he felt compelled to discuss the topic on everyone's mind.

The opening remarks of the sermon reminded me of Obama's recent statement that "... whether we like it or not, America remains a military superpower." And while Americans have come to expect Obama's ridiculous apologies for America's exceptional nature, American Jews do not and should not accept this attitude from anyone -- least of all our rabbis. Our history and faith dictate, and our survival depends upon, our leaders -- our rabbis -- celebrating Israel's greatness and the success of the Jewish people...Read more

Israel in the news...

From American Thinker:

Barack Obama has achieved the impossible: He has managed to bring together secular Israelis and ultra-Orthodox Jews in a heated campaign against him. Samau’ al al-Maghribi converted to Islam from Judaism in 1163 C.E., and shortly afterward wrote an anti-Jewish polemic entitled Silencing the Jews. Moshe Perlmann (d. 2001) translated al-Maghribi’s tract into English and was the preeminent scholar of Islam’s medieval polemic against the Jews. Israel and the “Christian Zionists”

There are several “ministers” of different “religions” who seem to oppose Israel’s claim to the land and habitually either lobby or write articles along those lines. I often read the term “Christian Zionists” in a derogatory manner and whenever I do so it immediately suggests to me several things about the person using that term.

First of all it’s certain the person will be a Supersessionist. Following on from that position, it is then highly likely the person will formulate all kinds of arguments that will attempt to reduce the validity of national Israel’s claims on the small parcel of land they now possess. Second, the term “Christian Zionist” will probably have been uttered by someone who is anti-Dispensational. The person holding to this view will often attribute far too much political power and influence by Dispies on Middle Eastern affairs.

A heated debate is raging over who owns the land upon which modern Jerusalem sits. Recently-labeled “Christian Zionists” (1) say God originally gave that land to the Jews, therefore the Palestinians have no real “right” to it at all. These Christian Zionists have urged President Bush and U.S. politicians to reject the proposed Road Map to Peace as offensive to God because it grants Palestinians equal rights to live on the land – and to have their own state – next to Israel. The Road Map has even been labeled "a Roadmap to hell" (2) – a denial of God's ancient promise to give His chosen people that specific piece of real estate...Read it HERE

Reading the above simplistic statement could easily lead someone to conclude that “Christian Zionists” and Israelis are somehow complicit in conspiring against the Palestinians. Is this the case?

Scripture is the most important aspect of this subject but, purely from a secular point of view, Israel has every right to the land determined to them post WW2.

We need to understand what size parcel of land was originally allocated to her and whether that was reduced (it was) and why (Arab protest).

We need to understand how and why Israel came to posses the Golan, Jerusalem and the Gaza strip (they were attacked by Arab nations).

We need to understand who the “Palestinians” really are and whether or not they were really displaced by Israel.

Finally, we need to recognize the fact that, by their statements, the “Palestinian” leaders don’t just want a return of “their land” nor do they want to live in peace in a Two State Solution side by side with Israel. The surrounding nations simply want to eliminate Israel from the area.

I’ve listed a number of links below that give a broad overview of the situation between Israel and her neighbors, from both a current and historical perspective. Unfortunately, I’ve come across Christians and secular people who seem to want, or need, to believe that Israel is the sole culprit of the Middle East problem, and nothing will deter them from believing this. This anti-Israel mind-set continues to confound me. Israel is held up to standards of behavior that no other nation is expected to uphold.

The Jews, Modern Israel and the New Supercessionism

New Book on Supercessionism:

King’s Evangelical Divinity School Principal Calvin L. Smith has edited a new book entitled The Jews, Modern Israel and the New Supercessionism: Resources for Christians, which is due out imminently. Additional contributions include Andy Cheung, Tony Pearce, Jacob Prasch, Howard Taylor, Stephen Vantassel and Paul Wilkinson. There is also a foreword by Mitch Glaser (formerly Jews for Jesus and now President, Chosen People Ministries, New York) and a preface by Mark S. Sweetnam, Research Fellow at Trinity College, Dublin. The book has been endorsed by leading Evangelical scholars such as Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., Darrell Bock, Robert L. Thomas and Amos Yong, among others. King’s Talks With Scholars has an interview with Calvin on the main college site, where you can find out further information about the new book. There are, of course, many Christians who regard Israel as a peripheral issue, even an irritating distraction, not least because getting to theological grips with this complex topic is costly both in time and the effort needed to reach a well-informed and biblically sustainable conclusion. I would agree Israel is not a test of orthodoxy; after all, we are saved through faith in Christ, not because we believe the Jews are God’s chosen people. But as the above Scriptures indicate, neither is Israel a peripheral issue. It already divides the church along hermeneutical (biblical interpretation), systematic theology and practical theology lines. Moreover, as the current debate, which is beginning to trickle down to the church level, becomes increasingly polarised and bitter, inevitably this will push Israel up the theological ladder. For example, recently I came across anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian pamphlets being widely disseminated across a well-known, historic and traditionally conservative denomination.

Much more significant (and ominous) is how the issue of Israel has become a touch paper – how it is symptomatic – of a wider ideological conflict which appears to be brewing within Evangelicalism, certainly here in the United Kingdom but elsewhere too. It mirrors the debate currently being played out in British society concerning how to respond to Islam. Arguably, several of the more vocal and polemical supercessionists have crossed that line which separates legitimate criticism of Israel from an irrational, pathological hatred of the country. Such demonisation of the Jewish state, which comes perilously close to anti-Semitism, goes hand in hand with efforts by such to engage not only in Muslim-Christian dialogue, but also to promote a less confrontational and more sympathetic approach to Islam. In some cases, such an approach includes visits to Islamic centres, attending and speaking at meetings organised by Palestinian solidarity groups, and even visits to rogue Islamic states such as Iran, where these platforms are used to criticise Christians who support Israel and believe the Jews remain God’s chosen people. Even Christians who do not openly support Israel but are nonetheless critical of Islam and what they perceive as an Islamist threat to Britain and the West are being singled out for criticism. A case in point is the recent situation involving Patrick Sookhdeo, a former Muslim convert to Christianity who leads the Barnabas Fund, a charity which speaks out on behalf of persecuted Christians worldwide, including those in Muslim lands. It appears he was recently criticised by some Christians who advocate a gentler, less confrontational approach to Islam, the result of which drew Sookhdeo to the attention of extremist Islamist bloggers. The issue has since been widely reported in the press, several blogs, and on the Barnabas Fund website.(1) Significantly, at least one of the Christians present at the meeting which allegedly criticised Sookhdeo’s frank assessment of Islam is a well-known supercessionist who is highly critical of Israel and Christian Zionism. Thus we see how the Israel issue is increasingly symptomatic of a wider ideological struggle within British Evangelicalism. As such, it cannot be relegated to the periphery as an insignificant theological topic...

Another great resource is Dr Renald Showers' The Coming Apocalypse: A study of Replacement Theology vs. God's Faithfulness in the End-Times

Here's a review by Gary Gilley:

In the Western world at least, in which racism is one of the few forbidden sins, the recent rise in anti-Semitism is perplexing. How can civilized, educated, tolerant and pluralistic people despise a race of people solely because of their ethical lineage? But for those who understand the biblical teaching concerning Israel there is no surprise. Unfortunately due to myriad of reasons from biblical illiteracy, to the popularity of Replacement Theology, to lack of interest in prophetic teaching, to an unwillingness to wade through massive tomes on the subject, the average Christian has little understanding of Israel’s past, present or future...Continue Reading

The Pathology of Jewish Anti-Semitism

From FrontPageMag:

Jewish anti-Semitism. It sounds like a contradiction in terms, an oxymoron or a Jackie Mason joke. If only this were the case.

Jewish anti-Semitism is all around us, part of the political air we breathe, a modern disease. In the twenty-first century the world is experiencing an explosion of it, a virtual plague. Among the most malicious and venomous of all bigots, the Jewish anti-Semites are at the forefront of every smear campaign against Israel and every attempt to cow Jews of America and the West into guilty support for those in the Middle East who would like to annihilate them. Jews today are leaders in the campaigns to boycott and “divest from” Israel, and in the leadership of the “Solidarity with Terrorists” groups. They make pilgrimage to the camps of Hamas and the Hezb’Allah, cheering on terrorists and their atrocities against Jews. They pioneered the smear campaigns to paint Israel as an apartheid regime and to stigmatize it as the moral equivalent to Nazi Germany.

Western campuses are crawling with Jewish anti-Semites. Some even hold leadership positions in Hillel houses. Many others are tenured professors. An anti-Semitic Jewish judge (Richard Goldstone) chaired a UN commission demonizing Israel. A Jewish member of Britain’s Parliament (Gerald Kaufman) compared Hamas terrorists to Jewish fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto and denounced Israel as a Nazi entity. Nor is this only an American phenomenon: a shockingly large number of Jewish anti-Semites are Israelis or ex-Israelis...continue reading

As I’ve often stated, the phenomenon of Jews attacking their own nation baffles me. Unfortunately, when this occurs it tends to legitimize anti-Semitic sentiment and inherent prejudice. In other words, if a Jew speaks out against Israel then there must be a good reason for it. But the worldwide condemnation of Israel by churches, organizations such as the UN and individuals is patently bizarre when you examine the facts and try to rationalize the behavior. As far as churches are concerned, I lay the blame squarely at the feet of a doctrine called Replacement Theology. But sometimes, eschatology can be the culprit.

Just recently I’ve been reading materials by Steve Wohlberg who is a prolific writer and front man for the Seventh Day Adventist church and who has written a book called “Exploding The Israel Deception”. In his case, the motivation for replacing Israel with the church runs much deeper than RT because his eschatology owes much to the teachings of SDA prophetess Ellen G White.

I’ve read some of Wohlberg’s articles on his WEBSITE – he’s articulate and clever but he’s no exegete. He cherry picks verses that he feels support his presuppositions. He has been called courageous by his readers for speaking out against Zionism and Dispensational errors regarding Israel. But far from being brave; he’s joined the biggest club in the world.

His understanding of Dispensationalism appears to be incomplete. There seems to be some confusion as to what Dispensationalism teaches about salvation and Israel. There is only One Way to salvation - for Israel and Gentiles. I am a Christian and belong to the body of the Church but I will never be an Israelite. My ethnic background is Gentile. A Jew can be saved, become a member of the Church and still be an Israelite inheriting all the promises extended to that nation that have NOT been abrogated. However, I realize this is a complex issue that covers much more ground than that.

Also, contrary to popular opinion, Dispensationalists do not think Israel can do no wrong. The purpose in God’s divine plan is to bring the nation back to Himself despite her failings. That will occur when she acknowledges the true Messiah. This is one of the purposes of the Great Tribulation. But judging by what I’ve been reading, I rather think that some people are seeking to find innovative ways to denigrate Israel and hold her up to a standard not applied to any other nation in the world.

One last thing, Wohlberg’s Jewish heritage has been touted as some sort of credibility factor to support the contentions found in “Exploding The Israel Deception”.

My counter to Wohlberg’s 128 page book is to recommend Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum’s 1000 + page “Israelology” which was his doctrinal thesis. Dr Frucht’s bio.

Jer 31:34-37 "They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is His name: "If this fixed order departs From before Me," declares the LORD, "Then the offspring of Israel also will cease From being a nation before Me forever." Thus says the LORD, "If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel For all that they have done," declares the LORD.

Supersessionism

What is Supersessionism?

Theopedia chimes in:

Supersessionism is the traditional Christian belief that Christianity is the fulfillment of Biblical Judaism, and therefore that Jews who deny that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah fall short of their calling as God's Chosen people.

Supersessionism, in its more radical form, maintains that the Jews are no longer considered to be God's Chosen people in any sense. This understanding is generally termed "replacement theology."

The traditional form of supersessionism does not theorize a replacement; instead it argues that Israel has been superseded only in the sense that the Church has been entrusted with the fulfillment of the promises of which Jewish Israel is the trustee. This belief has served not only as the explanation for why believers in Christ should not become Jews, but is also the reason that Jews are not exempted by the Christian churches, from the call of the Gospel to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation from sin and from the penalties due to sin.

In recent times, the doctrine of supersessionism has been blamed for mistreatment of the Jews in the past. Some liberal Protestant groups have therefore formally renounced supersessionism, affirming that Jews and other non-Christians have a valid way to find God within their own faith, which breaks from historic Protestant teaching. Dispensationalism affirms that salvation is only through faith in Christ, and that Jews fall short of obtaining the kingdom of the promised Messiah, unless they are converted to Christianity. However, in their view, a future mass conversion will result in the restoration of the nation Israel prior to the Millennium, apart from the church dispensation. This anticipation of a future role for the ethnic and geo-political nation of Israel in the plan of God, apart from the Church, is what is meant by some dispensationalists who style themselves as rejectors of "supersessionism" or "replacement theology", and thus they are using the terms in a way that is distinctive to their expectation of future events.

“Emergent Church” guru Brian McLaren is a key figure on the Evangelical Left who is trying shift Evangelicals, who are America’s most pro-Israel demographic, into a more neutralist stance. Currently, he is leading a delegation through Israel and “Palestine” to broadcast the sins of Israeli oppression against Palestinians by “listening, learning, thinking, observing, reflecting.” His blog is providing daily updates of his discoveries, all of which confirm his previously often declared bias against Israel...The Anti-Israel Revelation

The Cause of Anti-Semitism

What, then, is the true and only cause? In a word, it is Satan. The solution is to be found in Revelation 12. Satan hates the nation through whom has come so much blessing to the world, especially the Savior. First, the dragon is incensed against the child of the woman (Jesus Christ), then he goes to make war with the remnant of her seed, Israel. Moreover, when Satan is angry against Israel, it always culminates in defiance against the Lord Jesus Christ. The two are inseparable.

BBC Panorama Distorts the Facts About Jerusalem

From CAMERA:

"Finding a route to peace in [Jerusalem] is not exactly a walk in the park," says Jeremy Vine in a play on words to introduce the January 18th segment of BBC's "Panorama," entitled "A Walk in the Park." The segment presents alleged attempts by Israeli Jews to "change the demographics of East Jerusalem" and the title refers to the green areas being developed to link communities around Jerusalem. But viewers learn far less about the difficulty of "finding a route to peace" in Jerusalem than they do about the difficulty of finding objective information on the BBC.

Narrator Jane Corbin takes viewers on a "walking tour" of "what is happening on the ground" in eastern Jerusalem, scurrying from one "stop" to another to report on Israel's alleged misdeeds. Omitting essential facts and context that explain Israel's position, she provides a one-sided perspective that establishes Israelis as the villains and the Palestinians as their innocent victims...continue reading.

A phenomenon that continues to perplex me is that of Jews turning against Israel. One day I'd love to sit down with one and ask, WHY? Again from CAMERA:

In 1505, a Moravian Jew named Joseph Pfefferkorn denounced his faith and undertook a campaign to get the Talmud banned by claiming it blasphemed Christianity. Pfefferkorn was unschooled and a criminal, but that didn't stop the Dominicans in Cologne, who at the time were eager to cast aspersions on the Jews, from employing him. They recognized the value of a Jew accusing other Jews...Anna Baltzer - Jewish Defamer of Israel

CNN's Christiane Amanpour can't seem to help herself. Whatever the subject of the program, she's inclined to inject mention of Israel and its alleged myriad faults. An interview with Tibet's revered Dalai Lama prompted her to insert jarring comparisons of Tibet and the Palestinian "nakba." (Though with no musings on the absence of Tibetan suicide bombers.)...Amanpour's Impulse: Smear Israel

Throughout his years as a commentator on the Israeli-Arab conflict, Henry Siegman has consistently toed the Palestinian line that Israel is to blame for the failure to resolve the conflict. In a Jan. 25, 2010 article in The Nation, Siegman essentially promotes the current strategy of the Palestinian Authority leadership to bypass a negotiated settlement with Israel in favor of "forceful outside intervention." The purpose of this strategy is to compel Israel to accept a Palestinian state under the conditions demanded by the Palestinians...Henry Siegman Promotes Forceful Intervention Against Israel

From FrontPageMag:

The past year brought a fresh wave of anti-Israel rhetoric and accusations, most of which cited Israel’s “siege” of Gaza during last winter’s Operation Cast Lead as evidence of Israel’s injustice toward the Palestinians. The international press frequently echoed calls by human rights groups and activists to “end Israel’s illegal blockade” and “liberate Gaza.” Such messages have been conceived to undermine Israel and present a very misleading picture of the actual Gaza conflict...Eyeless in Gaza
