Saudi king to U.N. assembly: Time for peace-loving religious dialog

Yesterday, a two-day conference sponsored by Saudi Arabia opened at the United Nations in New York. Its aim: to promote dialog between the religions of the world and, in the process, to help "improve the image of Islam as a religion that favors dialog over violence." Addressing heads of state and other international delegates at the U.N. yesterday, Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud delivered the keynote speech of the so-called Culture of Peace Conference to the U.N. General Assembly. The gathering is being "seen as part of the Saudi monarch's efforts to promote a more moderate brand of Islam in a kingdom that has been accused of breeding extremism" ever since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the U.S. "By sponsoring interfaith events, King Abdullah may also be hoping to advance the debate over radicalism within the kingdom."

Mac, do you think it odd that the Saudi King chose this time to make a grand gesture toward peace and love after the price of oil per barrel dropped like a ton of bricks? There is a price tag on it to be sure but it really made the hair on my head stand up when I read it. On top of that there are new reports that Osama is threatening an even worse attack on the USA than 9/11 was. Considering that most of the terrorist involved in that mess were originally from the Saudi area, makes me wonder even more.

I do know that the gigantic move of the world toward a one world government and all that entails seems to be on missile fuel, making more and more inroads toward the prophesy. If this is the case and we are seeing the gathering storm coming and moving swiftly to fulfill the warnings we have all been discussing, we know that in truth the Tribulation is not very far off.

I hope for the best but I don't really feel that all of this is just a new turn of events for nothing. I am truly repulsed that the USA is the one nation to usher it all in. I think we, the USA, has done more than sneeze this time, don't you.

Hi Grany, I haven't been back here for a while. I'm going to post another article giving someone else's opinion regarding the Saudi King's efforts.

I think the US has been the one nation that has restrained globalism but things are now fast-tracking to that state. I agree with you.
